Urgent Care

"And what pity he felt for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn’t know what to do or where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd." Matthew 9:36

The dialog between Jesus and Peter before the crucifixion is notorious. Peter belts out that he is willing to die for Him. Days later, after Peter abandoned and betrayed Jesus, another well known conversation takes place. Jesus asks Peter if he loves Him. When Peter declares his love, Jesus tells him to do something for Him. "Feed My little sheep."

Jesus knows that he is leaving and mankind is going to continue to be hurting and lost. Jesus doesn't need Peter to be a "hero" and die with Him. Jesus wants him to stay and tend to His little sheep. Believers will tend to feel lost when hardships come and may try to find their own " easier" way. Jesus is asking Peter to be the voice of truth, bolster them up and lead them to God.

Even though this ALS season has not been easy I still believe that God is still in control. I have seen God faithfully provide for me and my family (housing, financially, medical equipment, encouraging friends and family, vehicles, excellent medical care). FEED MY SHEEP is a plea to my heart. As a little lamb myself I have nothing on my own to feed others. However, I can share what the GOOD SHEPHERD has given me! Please pray that I feel the urgency to lead other hurting hearts to God's throne to find grace to help in time of need.

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
