Recently my friends, Linda and Diana, sent me information about technology that is being developed to read minds. The hope is that it could be used to benefit people like me. My eye gaze computer is a tremendous blessing, but it is still time consuming for me. Potentially being able to communicate with simplicity in real time would be amazing. However, my concern is about the thoughts I have that would be better left unsaid!

Unfortunately my first thoughts in any given situation are not God honoring!! Diana mentioned the verse about taking every thought captive. I have come to realize that if I ever plan on using this technology I have to go deeper in my relationship with the Lord! My anxiousness, Impatience, fear, anger, unforgiveness, pride, coveting and critical spirit elevate my plan above God's! The Bible is very clear that I am accountable for my thoughts.

My sinful thoughts must be taken captive AND made obedient to Christ! Jesus lived a sinless life demonstrating what it looks like to be obedient mentally! He didn't allow what He wanted, in the flesh, to win out over God's will and way! The more I reflect on how Jesus responded I am humbled and convicted. He has left me no excuses to entertain thoughts that I would want to hide from you if you could read my mind!

Psalm 19:14

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

2 Corinthians 10:5

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
