Joe and Jessa when I was growing up road trips usually included our van breaking down, my closet was filled with "Hand Me Down" clothes, my favorite Christmas gifts were hand made dolls that my mom made, pizza came from the freezer, vacations were tent camping trips, and when our TV broke we didn't get a new one because we had van repair bills! Sounds like we were poor BUT I thought we were just being careful with the money God gave us!

One Sunday we visited a small church pastored by a friend of my dads. When the offering plate came around I was sitting close enough to see my dad slip a $50 bill in the plate! I knew that we actually needed that money. He explained to me later that God had put it on his heart. My dad was confident that God would take care of us! For the next week the flood gates opened and we were given around $2000 worth of food,

money and supplies.

The following Saturday was my favorite part of this miracle. The youth group from our home church showed up and brought a van full of groceries! I have never forgotten the steady stream of teens walking into my house arms loaded up with bags of food.

God has returned us to this same incredible place with my ALS! The needs that we have far exceed anything we have given in the past YET God is using other people to exponentially bless our family! Take a mental picture of the miracles of God's love on display as you watch people daring to sacrificially give. In the future when God asks you to sacrifice for someone remember that you are giving giving of God's RICHES not your own!

Psalms 77:11-14

But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.
