Buckle Up... LIGHTS ON

Driving through Atlanta the other night we came up behind several vehicles driving without their lights on. In town the drivers managed with their daytime driving lights and by other lights around them. It wasn't until they traveled out of the city limits and were alone in the dark that they switched on their lights! The cars had lights, the point was to use them.

Traveling alone in the dark is never a good feeling. In life I try to avoid this scenario as much as possible. I don't like not being able to see what is ahead, going on around me or having someone to give me support. However, I believe that this is exactly where God wants me to be. The darkness makes me rely on Him, my LIGHT !

When I am in the "dark" with God He helps me see what I need to see. Not too peripheral, or I get distracted from the goal. Not behind me, I need to keep moving forward. Not too far ahead, I might get overwhelmed. Not dim, I would move too slowly. Not flashing hazards, I would stop. The "dark" is an amazing reminder that God is just getting started! He is asking me to Buckle Up... LIGHTS ON!

John 8:12

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,

but will have the light of life.
