Hurricane Hope

Joe and Jessa we seem to be hurricane magnets, literally! They seem to find us wherever we live! Lately I have been watching the rescue and recovery efforts in Texas after Hurricane Harvey went through. My heart hurts for the victims and I am praying that they don't lose hope! One picture I saw of nursing home residents waiting to be rescued is forever etched in my mind.

The residents did not look concerned, angry, or flustered. The situation was

definitely out of their control but they were confident in the one who was taking their picture. The owner was there with them, taking action on their behalf and giving them hope! Today we are watching the spaghetti models for Hurricane Irma. Not surprising, Saluda is in it's projected path.

No matter where we live or what we do we will never be able to avoid the "storms"of life. Hope requires confidence in God! He is always going to be with us and working on our behalf. Hope is possible in the most dismissal situations! Looking at the nursing home residents in hurricane flood waters is powerful convicting reminder.

Isaiah 46:3-4

“Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from before your birth, carried from the womb; 4 even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.
