As a child Christmas taught me that Jesus was the BEST GIFT ever. In college Christmas illustrated that Jesus came to RESCUE me. As a mommy Christmas gripped my heart with the sorrow involved if you SACRIFICE the one you love for someone else. Today, with ALS, Christmas demonstrates the extent to which Jesus was willing to go to IDENTIFY with me.

Jesus came to earth, fully God and fully man. However, Jesus was not teleported from heaven to earth as a man. Jesus came as a baby. Jesus had to depend on others to feed Him, change His diapers, dress Him, bathe Him, wipe His nose, carry Him, and protect Him. He gave up His power, control, and crown to be humiliated. Jesus was willing to be a baby so that He could identify with me and I could learn how to live! If the CREATOR could fulfill God's purpose as a BABY, so can I!

Jesus understands me! He endured everything for my benefit! I am not the first one to be humbled and I won't be the last! He came to show me how to live in OBEDIENCE to God, no temper tantrums! To keep the mental picture of BABY JESUS in my mind encourages my heart! If He could do it, so can I with His help! I can be a BIG baby!

Hebrews 4:14-16

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
