Claim to Fame

I understand in a personal way what the Lord was getting at when he told people not to boast about their strength, wisdom or wealth. There is only so much that we can accomplish with what we have been given. In a world where people have renowned power, intellect and resources there are still so many unresolved problems. This exposes that our truest needs are much deeper than the physical.

The Lord gives the challenge to boast that we know and understand Him. Do we see His loving-kindness, justice and righteousness!? All three are found in Jesus Christ God's Son. He came to demonstrate loving-kindness ( John 3:16), justice (Romans 3:23) and righteousness ( Romans 4:22-25). Mental health wise, this is huge! Only Jesus can offer us a secure sense of belonging, ultimate forgiveness and give us the capacity to do what is right!

The whole point of this journey we are on is to be able to get past ourselves. To the point where every day, ALL DAY, is about the Gospel! I am finding that the less I can physically do, because of ALS, it is easier to see how much I need Jesus. Each time my heart hurts I am figuring out that God is about to teach me more about Himself! I want my claim to fame to be, when all is stripped away, that I know and understand Him!

Jeremiah 9:23.24

This is what the Lord says:

“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
