GPS (God Positioning System)

Joe and Jessa back in the "Olden Days" we didn't have cell phones with the WAYS app. We had to use old school maps, directions printed out from Mapquest or better yet follow notes scribbled down by a friend. Needless to say, we had to allot time for driving slower to read street signs and making u turns! My all time worst experience was when I was a passenger, in the back seat. I was going to a Christian concert with some friends of mine.

The concert was being held in a smaller arena that was located in the middle of a network of office buildings and stores. We all had our eyes peeled for the parking garage sign. Sure enough, we missed our turn. To my dismay the driver kept driving, passing countless places to turn around. I remember the buildings getting smaller as I watched them out the back window! Everything in me wanted to scream. "Stop going the wrong way! Turn around! "

Sadly, we often allow our selfish desires or sins to take away the feeling of being close to God. Studying the Bible is the game changer. It is our life's map. When we ignore warning signs and continue to go our own way we not only hurt ourselves but others as well. Thankfully, Jesus graciously gives us the ability to recover from wrong turns. I am praying that we will be as serious about staying on track spirituality as we are when we drive. “Jeremiah, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord says:“‘When people fall down, don’t they get up again? When they discover they’re on the wrong road, don’t they turn back? Then why do these people stay on their self-destructive path? Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back? They cling tightly to their lies and will not turn around.

FYI... We did eventually make it to the concert that evening.

Jeremiah 3:19

“I thought to myself, ‘I would love to treat you as my own children!’ I wanted nothing more than to give you this beautiful land— the finest possession in the world. I looked forward to your calling me ‘Father,’ and I wanted you never to turn from me.

Jeremiah 8:4-5

“Jeremiah, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord says:

“‘When people fall down, don’t they get up again? When they discover they’re on the wrong road, don’t they turn back? Then why do these people stay on their self-destructive path? Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back? They cling tightly to their lies and will not turn around.
