Sweet Fellowship

One of the best aspects of ALS is the new and rekindled friendships. This summer has been filled with golden opportunities to connect on a deeper level with friends and family! I am so abundantly blessed and grateful. God in His mercy is meeting my needs and blowing my mind!
The most unique denominator in my relationships with people now is our suffering. Quite honestly some of my friends were simply mere acquaintances before I got sick. Once I got sick they stepped up to meet my physical needs and as a result a deeper level of friendship developed. We began to identify with each other in our suffering.
Nothing bonds people more than when they humbly kneel before the Lord to pray together. We are not able to fix each others problems but we have a precious hope. I find that when I look at someone else's situation I can see how God is using it for His glory more than they can! The beautiful concept is that the reverse is also true! God keeps reminding me that the more time I spend praying and trying to encourage others I will benefit from the same truths!
The generous will prosper; those who refresh others
will themselves be refreshed.
