Before we left on our vacation to New Jersey my husband took our van in to be serviced. So it was a shock when the brake warning light on the dash lit up only an hour from home. Our hydraulic brake line broke. We had specifically left Saturday to avoid traffic around Washington DC. We ended up having to wait until Monday to get into a shop to have it replaced and complete our journey.

After a tremendous time with family and friends it was time to head home to South Carolina. This glorious leg of the trip we experienced tire problems. After another trip back to a shop, we now have four new tires that actually hold air. As God would have it all the extra expenses for our journey were covered by love gifts from generous friends. Car problems are not known for being convenient but it is an opportunity to replace damaged product with quality parts!

God not only wants to repair my brokenness but he wants to give me upgrades! God longs to replace my inner self (motives, desires, attitude, will, perspective) with His. We drove hundreds of miles before we got our van to the shop. There was a great sense of relief when the repairs were completed. Hardships are often the events that expose my need to do business with God. When I delay to pull over and let Him work on me, I am basically saying that I want to be a jalopy. God just wants me to be the completed Ferrari he made me to be!
