Wagon Ride

Joe and Jessa when we were in Ocean City, NJ, I loved to sit on the boardwalk while you were walking around with your cousins and friends. One evening, watching people passing by, I noticed a little toddler in a wagon being pulled along . He was enjoying himself until he glanced around to look behind him. In a panic he called out for his mommy to stop the wagon. Even though I couldn't hear what he said, it was clear that he couldn't find someone.
The toddler's mommy stopped to hear what he was saying. She glanced around, and then calmly started walking down the boardwalk again. At this point the little guy became frantic, whipping his head back around over one shoulder and then the other. It wasn't until the crowd parted... in a quivering voice of relief, with tears in his eyes, a smile on his little face ... he said, "Daddy! "
The festive lights, bustling tourist, comfy wagon ride, toy in his lap, or even his mom, couldn't distract him. He wanted to be with his daddy! What a beautiful picture of what my relationship with God, my Heavenly Father, should look like. I should be completely dependent on Him in the hard times. Then when I have a time of ease and comfort, my biggest delight and desire would be to be with the LORD! Always a toddler in a wagon looking for my daddy!
Matthew 18:3
And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and
become like little children, you will never enter the
kingdom of heaven.
