This week my sister- in- love Paula went home to heaven. She is especially dear to my heart. Paula has been a part of my ORDILE family adventure for almost 20 years. Understanding, supporting, spoiling, and loving me every step of the way. Especially demonstrating her devotion when she was my caregiver when I had to quit working because of my ALS!
Today, my husband came in the door with the mail in his hands. He smiled and showed me the name on the pink envelope. It was a card for me from Paula. It was post marked the day she passed away. One of the last things she did was a act of kindness. The card is beautiful, hilarious and even played music... totally Paula! She told me Happy Mother's day, she encouraged me and told me she loves me!
My longing to know what she wrote to me was so deep I cried when Lou read it to me. This was an amazing opportunity to feel connected with her again. As I have been looking at the card displayed across the room I have been thinking about my Bible. It is God's love letter to me. When was the last time I cried before I read it because I longed to feel connected to Him? Thank you Paula for your love and this precious teachable moment. I love and miss you!
