Messiest Job in the World

I used to watch the TV series that showcased some of the messiest jobs. I would like to make a suggestion to feature being a CAREGIVER! I spent several years working in a the Early Education program at Atlantic Christian School. Some of the littlest customers were known for producing the most epic messes. The entire staff was incredibly brave and displayed true grit.

At this juncture in my life I am a contender to the little ones at ACS, without the cuteness factor. My husband is taking care of my needs as much as he would care for an infant. However, the messes I make put me in the SUPER SIZED category. Honestly, the biggest difference is that I am fully cognizant of what is happening. I know how hard it is to take care of me!

For most caregivers their labor of love goes unappreciated. So often the inability to take care of ones self is due to the lack of brain development or function. Your countless hours of service will go unnoticed and without thanks. Often, the only feedback you will get is when something goes wrong. In reality you are the one keeping us alive, healthy and giving us a special quality of life.

To all the people who work as caregivers I want to say thank you! I want to speak on behalf of the ones you serve who have no voice. Thank you for being willing to meet ALL our needs, protect us, keep us clean, reassure us when we get scared, be mindful of us, and be invested in our lives. I'm sorry that we can't reciprocate and that others will probably never know all that you have done. I know that what is asked of you is exhausting, uncomfortable, and even gross. Thank you for faithfully showing up to do it all over again.

I want to encourage you that you always have an audience of One! Your tireless service and care is important to God. You are doing a great and mighty work! Your career is one that only a select group of people can dare to do. Thank you for demonstrating God's love when you get little to nothing in return. I'm praying that God will continue to grant you strength and grace to do what He has asked of you! You are a LIFESAVER!

Matthew 25: 38-40

When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

James 1:27

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
