No Harm No Foul?

Joe and Jessa the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-11 hits home for me. They sold their property and brought some of the proceeds to help other believers. It is not recorded that Ananias verbally lied about their generous gift, and yet they dropped dead!
I have struggled with telling the truth! Not blatantly, but lying by implying! I would give the wrong impression by using choice words and actions! The older I got the faster I felt convicted! The tendency to justify my behavior wasn't very successful because the Holy Spirit would keep pricking my heart! This is whom Ananias and Sapphira failed to heed!
Acts 5 is a sobering illustration that good intentions are not an excuse! You are at the age where you can tell people something and they might not be able to find out if you are lying! You are going to have to choose to be honest in actions, words and even if you aren't asked! Nothing we do is hidden from the Lord! Learn from Ananias and Sapphira, lying is an issue of the heart! There is no such thing as, "No Harm No Foul."
