Only a Wink

Joe and Jessa last week I was trying to figure out how I could communicate with people out in public. The muscles in my face frequently get rigid and my smile can look terrifying! A grimace is not the best way to communicate that I am happy to see someone or that I am grateful for acts of kindness! I discovered that I can still wink, raise my eyebrows and wave with my feet! I actually practiced!

Sunday morning as your dad was wheeling me into church, little Cassidy, was walking towards us! She enthusiastically waved to me and I thought I smiled back. However, she then started trying to wink at me. I am almost cried! She responded in the best way for me to communicate, Winky Morris Code!

Cassidy had no idea about my desire to demonstrate that I care. God did, and he bridged the gap! She was not offended that I didn't wave back, scared off by my awkward smile, instead she felt comfortable to engage with me! With all the broken hearts around me God resoundingly displayed to me that He is powerful! He can break through barriers so that I can show His love. Ask Him to bridge the gap between you and the ones who need to understand that God loves them!

Colossians 3:1

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ,

set your sights on the realities of heaven,

where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
