Joe and Jessa it has been hard for me to want to eat in front of people lately because I'm not able to control my facial muscles and tongue. I can't eat with my mouth closed and I end up being a hot mess! You all feed me at home and lovingly take care of me but I have been embarrassed for others to see ME! That is until we went to the mall last month and God taught me a lesson!
Daddy wanted to treat us to ice cream before we left. I was hesitant but he told me that it would be OK! You all "tagged teamed" feeding me my messy treat and cleaning my face. I could see people watching the "show" but I kept eating. As the Lord would have it, a kind lady approached our table. She wanted to let you all know that she had been touched by your care of me! She hadn't seen ME and my MESS because she was so taken by YOU and your LOVE!
People are used to seeing messes! The world is full of heartbreaking situations on every level. What causes people to stop and take notice is when they observe someone responding in love! It is natural to be private, guarded and hide our mistakes and messes from others. However, choosing to be real gives people an opportunity to see GOD'S TRUE LOVE and GRACE displayed! ! Let them see what JESUS has done for you and tell them what you would be without Him! "Open Up," so the world can say, "Awe!"
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
