Will you love Jesus More?

Back in the 1990's while teaching junior high students in St. Louis my sister sent me the Phillips Craig and Dean song "Will You Love Jesus More". I was touched by the lyrics in a powerful way.

If all I've done in the time we've shared is turn your eyes on me Then failed at what I was called to do there's someone else I want you to see.

Will You Love Jesus More when we go our separate ways?

When this moment is a memory will you remember His face?

Will you look back and realize you sensed His love more than you did before?

I pray for nothing less than for you to love Jesus more.

I began to see how my plans and purpose needed to change.

IN THE CLASSROOM I was to inspire my students to press into Jesus. When they had emotional needs I needed to show them God's hand at work. The Lord wanted to be the one they depended on, not me.

IN MY DATING RELATIONSHIPS I needed to be a reflection of God's love. I was 34 when I got married and I really struggled to be appropriate physically when I was dating. This song struck a chord in my heart. Instead of trying not to do the wrong things I could focus on what would help the person I was with love Jesus more. Needless to say I would sing this song at the top of my lungs before I left the house.

WITH MY CHILDREN God has given them to me on loan. He has created them because He loves them and has a plan for them. As their mommy I can't make them love the Lord BUT I can demonstrate that He is worthy of all their love.

IN MY MARRIAGE I am to love Lou like I love the Lord. I am not able to make Lou love me but I can live in such a way that blesses his heart. God is the one who brought us together and is able to keep us united no matter what happens.

WITH YOU I am accountable to the Lord to display His power and love. I am not able to handle everything that comes my way but my God loves to do impossible things. I have seen Him do it my whole life. He has taken me from one uncomfortable situation to another in order for me to see how big He is. As you watch me live for Jesus with ALS by His strength I pray that you see that I have BIG GOD who does beautiful things!

WILL YOU LOVE JESUS MORE is the prayer of my heart. Ephesians 3:17-19
