I have been humbled by Leah in Genesis chapter 29. Leah longed for the love and affection of her husband. She knew that her husband Jacob loved her sister Rachel more than herself. Leah was hopeful when God gave her a son. This time Jacob will love me she thought. By the the time she gave Jacob a third son she was sure Jacob would be attached to her. When she gave birth to her fourth son her priority had changed. THIS TIME I WILL PRAISE THE LORD! As I heard this story I started to cry. How often have I withheld praise from the Lord because I am waiting for what I want? I would certainly praise Him when He accomplished what I desired. Oh, to give Him praise even when my heart is hurting. I want to be like Leah and praise the Lord!!
My prayer is to say THIS TIME I WILL PRAISE THE LORD! I don't know what you long for but I pray that you will stand with me and sing! We have a BIG God who is worthy of our PRAISE!! My priority must be to PRAISE the LORD not to have my own way! Paul and Silas sang in prison and God shook up the place! No matter what happens in my life I want to say...THIS TIME I WILL PRAISE THE LORD! Turn up the volume!!!
